Get ready for the Garden & Art Tour 2015
The NCES Garden & Art Tour connects local gardeners with artists, creating a brilliant afternoon garden tour that’s a great opportunity to get friends together for a casual bike tour.
I am sure we have all been known to peek over a fence, or take the back alley just to get a glimpse of someones growing master piece. Though you might hear of complaints that Revelstoke’s growing season is too short, that does not seem to limit gardeners ability to create beautiful and inspiring spaces.

From figs, peaches, garlic to gigantic squash. This town has incredible knowledge and talent when it comes to making thing grow and flourish.
In 2012 the Local Food Initiative created the Garden and Art Tour to showcase this talent and inspire others to try their hand at gardening. Going into its third year the gardens seem to only become more beautiful and crops more abundant.
Gardeners by their very nature are big-hearted people – sharing seeds, sharing zucchini, dividing perennials amongst friends and offering advice. These enthusiastic and willing growers have generously consented to share their creative spirit and passion for gardening and we hope you’ll support their efforts on July 25th. You won’t be disappointed, and remember “an hour in the garden puts all of life’s problems into perspective.”
This year, the Local Food Initiative’s Garden & Art Tour will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 11:30–4:30 p.m, followed by Happy Hour at the Visual Arts Center to officially open our new community garden.
We’ll be announcing details of the tour in the coming weeks. Check back here or to the Garden & Art Tour webpage for details.
