The Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre’s Revelstoke Art Gallery was packed with art fans on Friday night, eager to take home some local work and support the gallery.

The annual Anything Goes art auction features works from local artists, all up for grabs at a silent auction on Feb. 2. The twist is the names of the artists are not included with the works, so you’re taking home a surprise, and judging by artistic merit alone.

Zuzana Riha’s diptych representation of a playful otter was the exception to the anonymous format. Her work was selected as best in show by the jury and was up for a live auction.

If you’ve never been to a Friday night art opening at the Revelstoke Art Gallery, you should check one out. They’ve got snacks and a bar, and it’s always a good environment to catch up and chat!
