The driver of an SUV has died following a head on collision with a logging truck near Golden on June 15, 2022.
Golden RCMP and BC Highway Patrol were called to a scene on Highway 1 near Emerald Lake Road in Field just before 7 a.m. on June 15. The location is about 45 kilometres east of Golden.
They responded to a collision involving an SUV and a logging truck. The driver of the SUV did not survive.
In a statement, the RCMP said the logging truck driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The RCMP said that initial evidence indicates the SUV was travelling eastbound when it crossed the centre line, colliding head-on with the logging truck coming from the opposite direction.
The RCMP said no further information will be released at the time.
