Evacuation alert rescinded for Galena Bay area
The evacuation alert for the Galena Bay area has been rescinded as of 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14.
The evacuation alert for the Galena Bay area has been rescinded as of 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14.
A bulletin from the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) declared the news, saying it was prompted by the “decreased threat of wildfire.”
The active fire is listed at 250 hectares in size. Currently, 11 firefighters and one piece of heavy equipment remains working on the fire. They are continuing to work on a fire guard on the west flank of the fire, as well as bolstering other guards that are in place.
