Do you know a Revelstoke literacy champion?

Today is International Literacy Day. Help honour literacy champions in our community by nominating them as a Champion for Literacy.

To celebrate International Literacy Day on Sept. 8, the Revelstoke chapter of the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy has announced that nominations for the annual Champions for Literacy are now open!

“Do you know a parent, a teacher, a grandparent, a business owner, a community member that supports learning in Revelstoke?” writes CBAL Community Literacy Coordinator Tracy Spannier. “Nominate them as a Champion for Literacy today!”

Who is a Champion for Literacy? A Champion for Literacy nominee can be a Revelstoke organization, service group, individual or business.

Nominations can be made to honour:

• a commitment to literacy and learning
• creativity that inspires or motivates others to learn
• activities and efforts supporting learning
• being a strong community advocate for literacy

Do you know a Champion for Literacy? Nomination forms are available at CBAL (Room 120-1001 Mackenzie Ave), Revelstoke Library (ORL), Okanagan College, Revelstoke Child Care Society or online at www.cbal.org/revelstoke
