Community celebration honours best in environmental education

Revelstoke hosted the Community Celebration of Environmental Education over the weekend, honouring the work of many environment-related organizations.

Revelstoke played host to the Columbia Basin Environmental Education Network’s (CBEEN) Spring Gathering which included community-based social marketing and teaching about invasive species workshops, member socials, the CBEEN AGM, and a Community Celebration of Environmental Education.

Over 70 people came out to the Community Celebration of Environmental Education which highlighted a number of environmental education programs in Revelstoke, including: Bear Aware, Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species SocietyNorth Columbia Environmental Society (Junior Naturalists), Mount Revelstoke and Glacier national parks (GASP program), Flexpeditions, Wildsight (Know Your Watershed), Avalanche Canada, Local Food Initiative (Food to Table program), and more.
