CMH offers Canadians-only heli-ski deal

The COVID-19 pandemic is a major challenge for heli-skiing and other winter backcountry tourism operators, who rely heavily on American and European clientele, but the 2020/21 snow season is also shaping up to be an opportunity for Canadian snow lovers. Many operators are offering discounts for Canadians in an effort to fill up spots and keep operations going. Canadian Mountain Holidays (CMH), a large heli-skiing company that operates several backcountry lodges in the region, is now offering special discounts for Canadians:

CMH is offering Canadian residents a chance to adventure at the newly redeveloped Bobbie Burns Lodge this winter.

“With winter fast approaching, we have prepared a program that will allow our Canadian guests even more opportunity to get out and explore the world’s best skiing and riding that exists in their own backyard,” said Jeremy Levitt, President of CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures.

CMH is offering discounts on 4, 5 and 7-days all inclusive trips that are suitable for a range of skiing and riding abilities, including first-time heli-skiers and private groups. Reserved for Canadian residents only, the exclusive packages offer up to 35 per cent off per person on prime spaces. The trips will be held throughout the peak months of January to March.

Located two hours west of Banff, CMH Bobbie Burns, which recently underwent an $8.4 million redevelopment, is typically sold out 18 months in advance. Robust safety measures have been implemented at the lodge which can host up to 44 guests, but has limited capacity of 27 for the upcoming season. A trip simulation with 50 people and fully implemented health and safety protocols was conducted at CMH Bobbie Burns in August to test every step of a heli-ski trip. While this level of testing has not been mandated for the industry, it highlights CMH’s commitment to safety and providing the highest caliber of experience for its guests.
