
Tania McCabe has been hired as the City of Revelstoke’s Director of Finance.
McCabe has served as the city’s Deputy Director of Finance for the past nine years. She has been acting Director of Finance for the past six months. Her experience includes financial administration and strategic financial planning.
“I am excited to be given this opportunity to serve a community that my family and I love and live in,” McCabe said in a media release. “Revelstoke has so many great future opportunities and I look forward to assisting the community in becoming financially stable and strong.”
McCabe’s has her Chartered Professional Accountant’s Designation and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. As acting Director of Finance she assisted city council through the recent financial planning process.
McCabe is working with Chief Administrative Officer Allan Chabot on changing the focus of the Financial Department towards long-term strategic financial planning.
“I look forward to the continued evolution of financial planning and leadership under Tania’s direction,” said Chabot. “Her in-depth knowledge of local government finance and the community will serve us well. As our organization focuses more and more on asset management and community sustainability innovative and effective financial leadership will be required.”
