Children’s performers Bumbershoot Theatre to present popular Junie B. Jones in Revelstoke
The kids will enjoy the Bumbershoot Theatre’s production of the hit book series Junie B. Jones on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre.
First days at school can be downright scary and popular children’s book character Junie B. Jones has to navigate social circles and school classes when Kelowna’s Bumbershoot Theatre brings her story, in musical form, to Revelstoke.
This fun kids show, on Saturday, Nov. 12, will explore how Junie B. tackles the problems of her changing life. Her best friend from kindergarten Lucille (who despite being rich and beautiful, is just a bit spoiled) doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore. But luckily for Junie, she makes friends on the bus with Herb, the new kid at school.

On top of her social drama, Junie is having trouble reading the blackboard. Her teacher, Mr. Scary (who is actually a really nice kinda guy), thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a top-secret personal beeswax journal and first grade has never been more exciting.
The popular Junie B. Jones book series, written by Barbara Park, began in 1992 and now has over 20 books.
Bumbershoot Theatre, now into their ninth season of operation, aims to “move children and youth towards a world of imagination and creativity while teaching and fostering improved communication, critical thinking, social skills, core values and improved self-esteem.”
These theatre professionals last year brought to Revelstoke an amusing rendition of the well-known cartoon strip Peanuts with the show You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
