Carly Dow & Madeline Roger play the Craft Bierhaus

Celebrating two different releases that have charted in the National Top 10 Folk/Roots category, Manitoban songwriters Carly Dow and Madeleine Roger (of Roger Roger) are hitting the road together to bring Ingrained and Fairweather to Western Canada. Join in the fun at Craft Bierhaus on March 10.

Carly Dow’s music will leave you charmed and haunted. Her wildcrafted soul-folk blends inspiration from wordsmiths Gillian Welch and Amelia Curran, with an edge reminiscent of Neko Case. Dow’s “dark and poignant writing” (Stylus) explores the complexities of human-to-human and human-to-nature relationships within grounded, connected and beautiful imagery. The depth and space of her home province of Manitoba seep into her music as main influences, which is delivered with”an incomparable voice that is raw, alluring and unique” (VIES Mag).

Madeleine Roger is a folk singer/songwriter who proudly hails from Winnipeg MB. Performing most often in the folk/roots duo Roger Roger with her twin brother Lucas, Madeleine is a rising artist in her own right, praised for her mature storytelling, evocative voice, and genuine stage presence.
Before falling madly in love with songwriting, her life was spent in theatre, globetrotting, and backwoods exploration. These experiences emerge in her imaginative lyricism and unexpected melodies, and her insatiable appetite for song-craft has resulted in an armload of songs.
