A vehicle accident at the TD Bank/Red Apple parking lot this morning turned out to be relatively minor.

The Mountaineer received a tip about the accident which occurred this morning around 9:45 a.m., with reports that an ambulance was on scene and people were crying. Revelstoke RCMP Cpl. Mike Esson confirmed that both the BC Ambulance Service and Fire Rescue Services were on scene, but no one was transported to hospital.

According to Esson one of the vehicles was exiting from the TD Bank parking lot and entered onto First Street when it was unsafe to do so. The accident resulted in some minor damage to the vehicles.

The RCMP have responded to a number of accidents this morning. Esson said a combination of icy roads and limited visibility in intersections due to snow pile up and street parking are all contributing factors. The RCMP are reminding people to slow down and to avoid parking in no-parking zones when driving in town.
