Brief: Two Revelstoke businesses nominated for Small Business BC awards

Revelstoke businesses Mountain CoLab and Tree Construction have been nominated for Small Business BC awards.

The Small Business BC Awards recognizes the contributions and achievements of B.C. small business owners. The two local nominees are vying for a spot in the top 10, which will be announced on Dec. 12.

The finalists will then proceed to the 2017 awards ceremony on Feb. 23.

Here are the local nominees:

Best Community Impact nominee & Best Concept: Mountain CoLab

Revelstoke Coworking is a central space for entrepreneurs, freelancers and remote employees to work and network. It’s a shared office experience with private and open concept facilities that include all amenities for work-life balance in the city. We offer full-time or daily rentals, and visiting professionals can book a hot desk or meeting room online. They can also speak to locals for feedback on life in mountain paradise and assistance with business or pleasure.

Best Community Impact nominee: Tree Construction

Tree Construction is a custom home builder specializing in environmentally sustainable designs and advanced technology. Using the very best methods of home design and construction, they believe that environmental stewardship, timeless savings and healthy living are the byproducts of dedication to excellence.

Their approach uses advanced materials, technology and design to reduce the energy requirements of the building, rather than focusing solely on bolt-on technologies like solar panels and efficient appliances.

Founder Greg Hoffart is one of our city’s top innovators and has been leading the charge on a sustainable living innovation centre that will ensure we can experiment and apply building and food technology, ensuring the long term livelihood of our community and country.
