Revelstoke RCMP are investigating a series of break-ins that happened between the early evening hours of Monday, December 27 and the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 28.

Police say that the unknown culprit or culprits broke into three separate businesses in Revelstoke’s downtown core. Entry was gained in each instance by the culprit prying open access doors to the businesses and then fleeing with an undisclosed amount of merchandise.

One of the businesses affected was Dose Coffee. Owner Lauren Webster said in a statement to the Mountaineer that their staff reported to work Tuesday morning to find that the front door to the cafe had been vandalized to gain entry.

“Other than the front door there was no damage to property or equipment. However, they were able to get away with a substantial sum of cash before exiting out the back door which was also open when staff arrived,” Webster said.

“The incident was reported to local RCMP but at this stage we have not received any updates on the progress of the case.”

Revelstoke RCMP continue to investigate and ask any member of the public who might have more information about the break-ins to call 250-837-5255.
