Brief: Second taxi service for Revelstoke

Howard’s Taxi will help to relieve lengthy cab wait times; should be operational within the next week.

A second taxi service is set to start in Revelstoke. Howard’s Taxi will consist of two cars driven by Howard Lehman and his brother Allan.

Lehman, who previously operated Howard’s Taxi in Saskatchewan, said the cab company has received all of the provincial approvals required through the Passenger Transportation Board. The final piece is obtaining a business license from the city of Revelstoke, something Lehman says should take place within the next week.

In the application to the Transportation Safety Board, Lehman noted the current taxi service in Revelstoke is overwhelmed by tourists during the ski season. By adding a second cab company, Lehman hopes to reduce long wait times and passengers who may not get picked up. You can read the complete application here.

Lehman said while Howard’s Taxi is starting out with only two cars, he’s hoping to add more once business is up and running.

Howard’s Taxi can be reached at 250-683-2733.
