Brief: Revelstoke RCMP seeks witnesses after cyclist hit

Revelstoke police want tips to help identify vehicle involved in hit and run with cyclist.

The Revelstoke RCMP is asking for witnesses or information after a cyclist was hit by a vehicle on Highway 1.

The incident happened between Westside Road and the Columbia River Bridge at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 6.

Revelstoke RCMP say a vehicle struck the cyclist. “The driver of the motor vehicle allegedly failed to stop to render assistance to the injured cyclist,” Sgt. Chris Dodds said in a statement.

The cyclist, a woman in her 60s, was helped by passers-by at the scene and transported to hospital for treatment. Police said she had “relatively minor, non-life threatening injuries.”

Police are asking for witnesses and are seeking help identifying the driver and vehicle involved.
