Brief: Revelstoke Crimestoppers to benefit from Southern Interior Local Government Association convention

Revelstoke is hosting a gathering of hundreds of Southern Interior local government politicians and staff from April 24 to 27.

The Revelstoke Crimestoppers will benefit from this year’s Southern Local Government Association convention, being held in Revelstoke April 24 to 27, 2018.

The convention is a meetup of local government politicians and officials from across the Southern Interior, and is expected to attract hundreds of delegates for a convention to be based at the Revelstoke Community Centre and various other locations.

Each year the SILGA convention holds a 50/50 draw with monies raised going to a local charity in the host community. Revelstoke city council voted in favour of the money going to Revelstoke Crimestoppers at its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 27.

SILGA is comprised of elected officials from 37 cities, towns, villages, districts and regional districts in South Central B.C. This year’s event in Revelstoke includes keynote presentations by market motivator David Allison and storyteller, writer and LGBT advocate Ivan Coyote.
