Brief: Revelstoke city council approves grant-in-aid requests
Funding program supports efforts of local clubs, groups, non-profits that fit with city’s official community plan.
Revelstoke city council gave approval for a total of 17 community groups to receive a combined total of $15,811 through the city’s grants-in-aid program.
Each year the city invites local clubs, groups, non-profit organizations and charities to apply to the program. The intent of the program is to provide financial assistance to local organizations partaking in special events beyond the scope of their normal operating revenue and that promote or meet the goals and objectives of Revelstoke’s official community plan. The maximum amount given out is $2,000.
The deadline for applications is Feb. 28 each year with a second intake deadline of May 31. The total budget for each intake is $25,000 with no carryover of unspent funds.
