Campfires are banned in the City of Revelstoke as of Wednesday, June 30, the same day as a campfire ban goes into effect across B.C.
The ban covers campfires and an array of activities that could lead to fires, such as fireworks, burn barrels, exploding targets, and wood-burning appliances not located in a building.
Open fire restrictions have been in place in Southeastern Fire Centre since June 25.
The ban is in effect until October 15, or until provincial authorities lift the ban.
