Brief: New restrictions for B.C. inland ferries
The B.C. government has announced new COVID-19 restrictions for inland ferries.
The provincial transportation ministry has rolled out new COVID-19 restrictions for inland ferries, including the Upper Arrow Lake ferry that sails from Galena Bay to Shelter Bay.
Effective immediately, passengers must remain in vehicles for the sailing and all amenities, such as toilets, are closed.
Walk-on passengers, cyclists and motorcyclists must remain inside designated zones at the terminal and while on the ferry. In addition, anyone in these three groups with symptoms of COVID-19 are not permitted aboard inland ferries.
The B.C. transportation ministry also reminds travelers that the provincial health officer has ordered residents to avoid all non-essential travel.
The new restrictions align practices with new Transport Canada guidelines, and came into effect on April 6 and are in place until further notice.
