Brief: Local organizations offer COVID-19 physical distancing services

Emotional support for people who are isolated; help getting essential goods for seniors, people who are immunocompromised

Three Revelstoke organizations have teamed up to offer physical distancing services for people who may need additional support due to isolation or vulnerability because of COVID-19.

The Revelstoke Women’s Shelter, Revelstoke Community Response Network and Revelstoke Hospice Society have teamed up with local businesses, organizations and volunteers to offer support to the community.

The supports include emotional supports by phone, text or email and assisting people who need help getting essential goods or accessing other services. This includes people who may not feel safe shopping for themselves because of their age, people who live alone and need someone to talk to or people who are immuno-compromised and have concerns about how they can get groceries and other essential items.

To access this service you can contact Taha Attiah at 250-837-1572 (call/text) or email [email protected] or you can contact Anneliese Neweduk at 250-814-8387 (call/text) or email [email protected].
