Brief: Fire causes ‘heavy damage’ to Big Eddy mobile home

Fire rips through Big Eddy mobile home. One person was taken to hospital for assessment.

A mobile home was destroyed in a Thanksgiving Monday fire in the Big Eddy.

Revelstoke Fire Rescue Services (RFRS) said the responded to a report of the Griffiths Road fire just before 3:30 p.m.

The mobile home was “fully involved” when crews arrived. They opted to take defensive moves to prevent the fire from spreading.

One resident was taken to hospital for assessment as a result of the fire.

Firefighters were on scene for about three hours. There were no injuries to responders. In a statement, RFRS said a fire investigator is on scene working to determine the cause and damage.
