Brief: Dwayne Voykin announced as new Revelstoke fire chief
Voykin says he is looking forward to the leadership role he’ll take on as fire chief.
Dwayne Voykin is set to become Revelstoke’s new fire chief. The city of Revelstoke announced Voykin’s appointment to the position of fire chief in a media release sent out early this afternoon.
Voykin, who is currently the assistant fire chief, training officer and emergency program coordinator, will take over as fire chief effective Nov. 1, 2018. Voykin has lived in Revelstoke for 25 years and has over 21 years experience with Revelstoke Fire Services. He spent 10 years as a volunteer firefighter and the past 11 years as a career firefighter. He enjoys spending time in and around Revelstoke with his wife Tammy and daughters Tori and Miya, and will strive to ensure the safety of the community.
“I am excited to take this next step in my career,” said Voykin. “I am looking forward to leading the great men and women at Revelstoke Fire Services.”
