Brief: City, CUPE workers announce 5-year, 8.5% deal
The City of Revelstoke and the union representing city workers announced a new, five-year labour deal on May 4.
The deal will see city workers’ wages increase by 8.5 per cent over a five-year term.
In a statement, Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 363 president Chris Selvig said the local was, “pleased to have reached a fair agreement that resolves some difficult issues and allows us to focus on providing great services to our community.”
Mayor Mark McKee also cited a good bargaining environment. “Mayor and council are supportive and appreciative of the collaborative effort displayed by management and CUPE members that was essential in completing this agreement.”
The statement said the deal addresses a number of outstanding issues.
