Body of missing man found in Nakusp area

The body of a man missing since July 31 has been located in the Nakusp area. RCMP are not confirming if the body located is that of Allan Ellsworth who was reported missing from Trout Lake on July 31.

The body of a man missing from the Nakusp area since July 31st has been found.

A statement from the RCMP’s Southeast media relations office says the body was located on September 16, 2017. The name of the deceased is not mentioned in the statement.

The Mountaineer has made several attempts over the past few days to speak with an RCMP media relations officer to confirm if the body located is that of Allan Ellsworth.

The Southeast media relations office has not responded to requests for clarification on the identity of the man located.

Ellsworth was vacationing in Trout Lake when he failed to return home to Kelowna. The 53-year-old was reported missing on July 31.

RCMP say in the statement that the cause of death is not considered suspicious. The BC Coroners Service is involved in the investigation.
