Big act: Walk Off The Earth coming to Revelstoke

Walk Off the Earth has been announced as the headliner at Revelstoke’s new festival, Axis Mundi Harvest, which takes place this September 18–20.

Riding on the wave of the success of Gotye’s huge hit Somebody That I Used to Know, the Canadian alt-pop quintet parlayed that into their own YouTube smash in 2012, when they combined to play the song all together on one guitar. It has garnered over 165 million views so far.

Originally from Burlington, Ontario, the Columbia Records artists are set to release a new album in mid-June.

The Axis Mundi Harvest festival is the first of two new shoulder season festivals organized by Hugo Rampen, the former director of the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues festival.

The festival will include events in downtown Revelstoke and a main concert venue at Revelstoke Mountain Resort.

Big acts announced so far include Ashley MacIsaac, the Floozies, Adham Shaikh, Sticky Fingers and Grounders. The festival will also include cultural events and notable speakers.
