Avalanche blocks Trans-Canada east of Revelstoke Friday night
DriveBC is reporting that a large avalanche east of Revelstoke Friday afternoon has closed the Trans-Canada Highway.
The slide has covered the highway with metres of debris. The estimated time of reopening is between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The highway between Sicamous and the Alberta border has been hit with a rash of avalanche and MVI closures for the past several days after a heavy snow storm moved through the area.
