Art Exhibitions Opening at Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre, 6 p.m.

This Friday marks the opening night of four new art exhibitions in Revelstoke. Experience artwork, the opportunity to interact with the arts community… oh, and cheap drinks! To give you a taste – local artist, Michelle C Spragg, will be debuting a new mixed media style that up-cycles scrap saw blades to pay tribute the trees and forests of the Columbia-Kootenay Region. If you can’t make it out for the opening night, you’ll have until April 26 to get yourself down to the Visual Arts Centre and check out the exhibit.

Fusing west coast grunge with a hint of southern blues, this Vancouver group are here to remind everyone that rock n’ roll will never die. Their strapping vocals, thunderous drums, powerful bass tones, heavy guitar riffs and addictive licks this band is sure to get you singing along, bobbing your head and stomping your feet.

All That Glitters (Dance Team Fundraiser) at Traverse, 8 p.m.

Douse yourself in glitter-dust and dance yourself hungry. Tasty appies, a silent auction, specialty drinks and a shooter bar will all be coming to Traverse this Saturday night, with funky beats provided by none other than the Revy-favourite, DJ SiFi.
Funds raised during this event will support the local Just for Kicks! dance team. Tickets cost $20 each or two for $35 and can be purchased online here. There will also be a free shuttle service (returning home) that runs until midnight.

Looking to unwind after a hard week? There’s no better time or place than Saturday night at the Revelstoke Forum. So, come on down and support your local junior hockey team, enjoy a cold one and tuck into some of the best poutine in town. The Revelstoke Grizzlies take on the Kimberley Dynamiters this Saturday at the Revelstoke Forum. The game starts at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. If you’re looking for a spot in the beer garden, be sure to get there early as seats fill up fast.
