A male and female from Calgary have been arrested and charged in conjunction with a recent string of thefts in Revelstoke. The pair, whose names have not been released by RCMP, were arrested in Chilliwack and are charged with possession of stolen property.

Revelstoke RCMP said in a statement the pair were also allegedly in possession of stolen credit cards, license plates and a 2014 Ford F150.

On Monday, Dec. 17, Revelstoke RCMP received multiple calls regarding a residential area in Revelstoke experiencing a large number of thefts in the early morning of that same day. Police received numerous reports of thefts occurring between Fourth Street and Eighth Street East, all east of Mackenzie Avenue. Reports included an attempt to steal a license plate, theft of a sled and trailer, entrance into a parking garage, a stolen $3,000 bicycle, theft of a cargo trailer, and several vehicles being entered. The sled and trailer, cargo trailer and bicycle have been recovered. The RCMP have received a set of keys located in a vehicle that were most likely placed there by the thieves, possibly as a result of being stolen from another vehicle.

Several citizens have reported to police since these incidents had been reported, which has aided in the investigation. Police continue to encourage residents and vehicle owners to secure their property.
