Revelstoke RCMP are once again appealing for public help locating missing Revelstoke man John Cunliffe.

Revelstoke RCMP first asked the public to come forward with any sightings or information on the missing man on July 29, when police issued a media release asking for help.

Since then, police have made little headway on the missing person file for John Cunliffe, aged 49.

Cunliffe was last seen by his family on June 15. The family reported him missing on June 25, saying it was out of character for him to not be in touch on a regular basis.

Since the missing person alert, police have tracked down CCTV footage of Cunliffe at a gas station in Sicamous in the early morning hours of Monday, June 18. It’s the last confirmed sighting of Cunliffe.

Cpl. Thomas Blakney of the Revelstoke RCMP say they have also had possible sightings of Cunliffe in Enderby on June 30 and in Kamloops on July 4, but those sightings came from people who thought they may have spotted him, and haven’t been confirmed.

Cpl. Blakney said they have “no theories” as to why Cunliffe is missing. He said there is “nothing to suggest foul play, nothing to suggest mental health.”

Police have tried his cell phone, but the device has been switched off and they got no pings. They also say there have been no transactions on his bank accounts since he went missing.

Blakney said they’re hoping someone may have spotted his black Dodge pickup truck, which is missing a back bumper and may have ‘Fox Motorsports’ stickers on the back.

Blakney said there is some indication he may have access to a quad ATV, so they’re asking anyone who’s been on backcountry roads for possible sightings of his black pickup.

“It’s not the norm for him to be out of touch, out of communication,” Blakney said. “We are hoping the media release will promote more attention.”

At the time he was seen on June 15, Cunliffe was wearing blue jeans and a black T-shirt. Cunliffe has blue eyes and short, brown, greying hair, is 6 feet tall (183 cm) and weighs 175 pounds (79 kg). In the June 18 image, he appears to be wearing a black and grey camouflage T-shirt and a metallic neck chain.

Cunliffe has a dragon tattoo on his left shoulder area and a tiger tattoo on his right shoulder.

He drives a black, 1995 Dodge 1500 pickup truck with B.C. licence plate numbers LY 6329.

Revelstoke RCMP ask anyone with information on the whereabouts of John Cunliffe to contact them at 250-837-5255 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477)  or visit their website at www.revelstokecrimestoppers.ca.
