Large structure fire in Revelstoke’s Farwell neighbourhood

Fire breaks out at a residence on Douglas Street in Revelstoke’s Farwell neighbourhood on Saturday morning.

A large structure fire broke out late Saturday morning in Revelstoke’s Farwell neighbourhood.

The fire was at a residence on Douglas Street near the intersection with Wilson Street.

Flames and clouds of smoke could be seen billowing out of the structure.

Neighbours on scene estimated the fire started between 10 and 11 a.m.

Fire crews were on scene battling the blaze.

The nearby Big Eddy Bridge was blocked to traffic during the blaze.
