Brief: Revelstoke School District seeking realtor for sale of Big Eddy lots

District is planning to issue request for proposals this week.

It looks as though building lots on the former Big Eddy Elementary School site will soon be up for sale.

The Revelstoke School District’s board of education announced it is seeking a listing realtor to assist with marketing and sales of the seven building lots on the Big Eddy property. In a media statement the school district announced it will be issuing a request for proposals this week.

“We are anticipating final approval of the subdivision shortly from the City of Revelstoke and we will undertake completion of the servicing in October. Pending the conclusion of those items, the selected realtor will begin the marketing and sale of the properties,” said the statement.

The sale of building lots on the Big Eddy School site is part of a project agreement between the Revelstoke Board of Education and the Minister of Education to help fund the Revelstoke Schools Project. The Revelstoke Schools Project included the building of the new Revelstoke Secondary and Begbie View Elementary school. The plan identified a local contribution through the disposition of surplus school sites.
