The Revelstoke Credit Union has announced that two bursary opportunities are now open to students of this year’s Revelstoke Secondary School graduating class, with another to open up for application next month.

The Fred Olynyk Bursary is open for application until March 11. The award was established in honour of Fred Olynyk, a long-time resident of Revelstoke who was elected to the Okanagan Regional Executive of the B.C. Central Credit Union in 1972 and became vice chair in 1975.

The $3000 bursary will be dispersed annually over the awarded student’s tenure. Applicants must complete an essay and be members of the credit union to qualify.

The Revelstoke Credit Union is also involved in the Credit Unions of B.C. Bursary Program and the Valeyo Learning Grant, which is a national competition open for application to Canadian Credit Union Members.
