MVI closes Trans-Canada Highway west of Revelstoke Wednesday afternoon

The Trans-Canada Highway is closed 19 kilometres west of Revelstoke on Wednesday afternoon. Six people were injured in the incident, including two with critical injuries. A helicopter ambulance and three ground ambulances responded. The estimated time of reopening is 5 p.m.

The Trans-Canada Highway is closed early Wednesday afternoon due to an MVI 19 kilometres west of Revelstoke.

BC Emergency Health Services said that six people were transported to hospital with injuries, two of them are in critical condition. The provincial emergency services organization said that they responded to the scene with three ground ambulances and one helicopter ambulance.

Currently, DriveBC is estimating the highway will reopen at 5 p.m. The provincial road information service is scheduled to provide an update at 3:30 p.m.
