Two more dogs taken during second break in at Revelstoke Animal Shelter

Two dogs have been taken during the second break-in to occur at the Revelstoke Animal Shelter this week.

Cpl. Thomas Blakney of the Revelstoke RCMP said the two dogs, along with the dog taken in Monday’s break-in were involved in a vicious attack on a local resident on April 21, 2017

“As a result these dogs were seized by animal control and held as they were deemed dangerous and a risk to members of the public,” said Blakney.

Blakney said Revelstoke RCMP were alerted to the second break-in which took place on Wednesday, September 13. Blakney said in this instance the alleged thief or thieves pried open two kennels.

“Once inside, culprit(s) removed two dogs described as: female pit bull terrier predominantely light brown in colour with white who answers to “Luna” and another female pit bull terrier predominantly dark brown in colour with white who answers to “Ruby,” Blakney said in a statement.

The dog taken from the shelter on Monday is described as a male pit bull terrier, predominantly black in colour with white who answers to the name of “Kilo.”

The Revelstoke RCMP is currently investigating the break and enters and is requesting the public’s assistance in being on the look out for the three dogs. RCMP note that if you see any of the dogs described do not approach them and contact the RCMP at 250-837-5255.
