Revelstoke boxers earn wins in Cranbrook tournament

The Revelstoke Boxing Club went two for two at the Tomorrow’s Champions Tournament in Cranbrook on April 22, with Iosvany Armenteros and Domenic Lentini earning wins.

Lentini boxed Kenny Stanton of the Nelson Boxing Club. From the first bell Lentini took control of the pace of the match keeping his opponent on the defensive for the entirety of the fight. Lentini scored two standing 8 counts against his opponent the first in the second round and another in the third round before the referee stopped the contest giving the win to Lentini by TKO in the third round.

Armenteros boxed Jesse Lyons of the Nelson Boxing Club. Utilizing skillful head movement and sharp counter punching, Armenteros proved to be too much for the older and more experienced opponent. Armenteros scored two knockdowns in the second and third round and scored a standing 8 count after the second knockdown before winning his bout by split decision.

This was the fourth match for Armenteros and second for Lentini.

“These two boxers have developed their own very skilled and distinct styles and continue to be a testament to the capabilities and training of the Revelstoke Boxing Club,” said head coach A.J. LeRose.

The next event the Revelstoke boxing Club will attend will be Fight Night III on May 20 hosted by the Nelson Boxing Club. Where Armenteros is planned to have a rematch with the local boxer Jesse Lyons.
