Interior Health will open a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Revelstoke on Mar. 15 and is taking telephone bookings for those eligible starting on Mar. 8.
The first round of vaccinations covers those 90 and over and Indigenous peoples aged 65 and over.
The Revelstoke clinic will be located at the Revelstoke Community Centre at 600 Campbell Avenue. Interior Health says that clinic will be open three days per week.
If you fall within that age category, you can call 1-877-740-7747 to book an appointment. The call centre will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The call centre will ask for your name, date of birth, postal code, your personal health number located on your driver’s licence or B.C. services card, and a telephone number they can reach you at. Family members or those trusted to support seniors can call on their behalf.
Vaccination eligibility will be staggered by age category. Starting on Mar. 15, seniors 85 years and older can begin to book appointments. Starting on Mar. 22, seniors aged 80 and up will be able to book appointments. So far, Interior Health has not scheduled times for age cohorts below the age of 80.
Currently, Interior Health is booking for first doses only. The health authority will follow up directly with those who receive first doses.
Currently, the B.C. government is in Phase 2 of its immunization plan and is targeting immunizing 400,000 British Columbians between March and mid-April.
