Brief: Motorcyclist hospitalized after Victoria Road collision

On Friday afternoon, a collision between a truck and a motorcycle on Victoria Road sent one man to the hospital.

A motorcyclist was sent to hospital with injuries and the driver of a truck was given a ticket for failing to obey a traffic device following a collision on Victoria Road.

Revelstoke RCMP say the incident happened around 1:45 p.m. on June 25 at the intersection of Victoria Road and Boyle Avenue.

In a statement, Revelstoke RCMP state that investigating officers, “determined the commercial pick-up truck proceeded to make a left turn from Boyle on to Victoria in front of the oncoming south bound motorcycle.

The pick-up truck struck the motorcycle and the rider was thrown from the bike, receiving serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The male rider was transported to Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke.

The single male driver of the truck was issued a violation ticket for failure to obey a traffic device. Victoria Road was closed by police at the intersection for a short time after the incident.
