Young woman dies in Trans-Canada Highway MVI

A 24-year-old Calgary woman has died in an early morning single-vehicle MVI on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Revelstoke

A 24-year-old Calgary woman has died in an early morning single-vehicle MVI on the Trans-Canad Highway east of Revelstoke.

The incident happened at about 2:45 a.m. near the Jumping Creek forestry road, approximately 35 kilometres east of Revelstoke.

The vehicle left the highway to the right and struck several trees.

The woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was determined to be dead at the scene.

The male driver was transported to Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Revelstoke RCMP spokesperson Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky said the incident remains under investigation.
