Many community members may have seen local resident Ginger Shoji on her walking quest around our community.

What you may not know is that she walks as a 15-year cancer survivor!

With her two little feet and a heartbeat she has walked over 7,821 kilometres in honour of anyone touched by cancer, including those recently diagnosed, currently undergoing treatment, and those, including many of her friends, who have passed away from cancer.

She has been keeping track of her distance since the beginning and has now almost walked across the span of Canada (while never having left her favourite little mountain town of Revelstoke).

Her message to those touched by cancer is: “You are not alone.”

Show Ginger and the rest of the community impacted by cancer that they are not alone and walk with her on Friday, April 21.

Come by at 8:30 a.m. and we’ll be leaving by 8:45 a.m. starting at Grizzly Plaza and ending at Begbie View Elementary where all are welcome for a short assembly.
