This weekend is shaping up to be an eventful one for Nordic skiers from Revelstoke and beyond.

On Sunday, January 7, Revelstoke will welcome athletes from across the Okanagan to compete for coveted positions on the Okanagan Division Team at the BC Winter Games. This locally held event will be hosted by the Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club. The BC Winter Games Trials will be in conjunction with the Teck Okanagan Cup #1, also being held at the Mount Macpherson trails. The Tech Okanagan Cup #1 is open to skiers of all ages.

Nearly 150 skiers will attend this local race, with almost a dozen skiers from the local area competing for the spots.

The ski club asks that Mount Macpherson Trail users be aware that the area will be crowded from 9am to 3pm on Sunday and that Covid-19 protocols will be followed.

The ski club will also host a Lantern Ski this Saturday, January 1, where over 100 lanterns will be lit around the main loop from 5pm to 8:30pm. The event is free for all members and will cost the regular day rate for non-members.
