Revelstoke Welcome Week is all about connecting newcomers & the community. All community members are invited and encouraged to take part in the high-spirited events planned. The week is filled with free or low-cost events; it’s an opportunity to explore town, businesses, events, facilities, and services, share our passion, and inspire newcomers to get involved. WIN A DAY HELI-SKIING WITH SELKIRK TANGIERS

This year, participate in the welcome week events for a chance to win a  5-run day of Heli Skiing with Selkirk Tangiers! Here is how it works:

  1. Attend each event to collect draw tickets.

12:00 PM – 9:00 PM | On Friday night, the streets of downtown Revelstoke will become full of holiday cheer! The Annual Moonlight Madness event will be from noon until moon on Friday, November 25th.

Grab a warm drink, wander around town, into all the diverse shops to say hello to the amazing service staff, and check out all the unique offerings.

7:00 PM – 9:30 PM | Watch Revelstoke’s local “B” hockey team square off against Castlegar. Arrive early for a better chance at seating in the beer garden.

7:30 PM – 9:30 PM | Join Arts Revelstoke at Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre for Mînowin, a new multimedia dance work that integrates narrative, movement, song, performance, and multimedia design, connecting to landscapes from contemporary perspectives of customary Indigenous dance forms. Mînowin describes how we clarify direction, as we recover and reinterpret the teachings that define and redefine who we are, and that are accessed through story, dance and song.

12:00 PM – 12:30 PM | A 30-minute virtual crash course on what makes Rogers Pass so unique. Topics will include the world’s largest mobile avalanche control program, the Winter Permit System for ski touring, and winter driving tips.

5:30 PM – 6:30 PM | Hatha Yoga class is a practice to honour your body using asana (postures), pranayama (breath-work), and bandhas (specific muscular contractions) to lift vital energy, steady the mind, and soothe your soul. Expect a class that is accessible to all with opportunities to deepen your practice and release tension.

6 PM | Learn about the latest processes and software to market your business online at November’s Tech Meetup. The right technology – and how you integrate it into your marketing operations – makes all the difference in how your product resonates with customers. Discover the most meaningful tech tools and strategies for your content, and how to use them to their fullest potential.

This month’s speaker is Emily Wright, content marketing manager at Revy-based tech company, Cronometer. Refreshments provided. Revy Tech Meetups are an initiative of the City Of Revelstoke’s Tech Strategy to support and grow the Revy tech sector.

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM | This class begins with a grounding breath exercise followed by a flowing warm-up to prepare your body and focus your mind. The second half of the class migrates slowly through longer-held poses that will leave you feeling relaxed and ready for the rest of your week.

6:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Screening three films that explore the topics of place and colonialism in Revelstoke and winter outdoor recreation followed by a panel discussion. Informational tables and social begin at 6:00 pm and films begin at 7:00 pm with panel to follow.

Films: Beyond Begbie, Fabric, Expedition Reclamation.

Panelists: Shelly Boyd – Arrow Lakes (Sinixt) Facilitator at Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, Sandy Ward – Co-founder of Indigenous Women Outdoors, Indra Hayre – DEI Consultant and founder of IncluSKIvity.
