Slip Cast Ceramics with Stephanie Curran
Join the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre for our Slip Cast workshop with Stephanie Curran. This workshop is open to anyone regardless of skill level, and is perfect for those wanting to explore alternative ceramic techniques.
Slip casting is a fascinating process that involves filling moulds with liquid clay, also known as slip. It’s commonly used for production pottery or replicating intricate pieces. However, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s only for experienced potters or sculptors. Slip casting is a fantastic opportunity for novice potters to further explore the properties of clay and expand on their ceramic skills.
During the workshop, you’ll learn the intricacies of the process and gain hands-on experience using original mug moulds from the ’70s and ’80s. All participants will go home with a finished mug! Whether you’re a beginner or have previous ceramic experience, this workshop will provide you with new knowledge and techniques to enhance your craft.
