2019 Revelstoke Polar Plunge for Special Olympics BC @ Williamson Lake Campground
Oct 20 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

As an established Special Olympics fundraiser throughout North America, the Polar Plunge has a history of people laughing and splashing for a cause.

The 2019 Revelstoke Polar Plunge for Special Olympics BC will have families, individuals, businesses, and law enforcement members taking pledges to jump into cold waters on Plunge Day, all to support and raise awareness for Special Olympics BC.

Plungers will be freezin’ for a reason – fundraising to bring quality sport training and competition to individuals with intellectual disabilities, transforming the lives of children and adults through the joy of sport.

Special Olympics athletes around the world follow the oath: “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.” Polar Plungers can follow this example by bravely taking a chilly dip!

Bikes, Beers & Babes @ Revelstoke Community Centre
Oct 22 @ 6:00 pm

Our weekly rides start NEXT TUESDAY April 16. Meet at the community centre at 6pm, ready to ride.

A few reminders, as we start the bike season:
-Bring a tube, tools, & whatever you need to be ready to fix something mid-ride. Be prepared!
-Remember your group ride etiquette. Let faster riders go in front of you, let someone know if you want to pass, leave space between riders, watch for forks in the trail (don’t let the babe behind you down), check in with others, and generally don’t be a dick.
-You don’t need to be the best! Just show up. We are a friendly group.
-We will have a ride planned out in advance and will always (99% of the time) ride to the trail head.
-We go out for food & beers after the ride, so keep that in mind! Usually we stop at the Big Eddy Pub.

We are super excited to bike! Hit us up with questions – Catherine CraigRobyn Goldsmith Mindy Skinner Jenn Avery or me. See you next Tuesday

Revelstoke Women’s Drop-In Hockey @ Revelstoke Forum
Oct 23 @ 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Ladies – if you are looking for a fun activity to do in the evenings throughout the winter season, look no further. The Kodiak’s are looking for new players to come out and have fun this winter season. We are a drop in league for ladies looking to play a little hockey. This is not a competitive team, we are a drop in team and we welcome all skill levels.

If you are new to hockey and do not have gear, we can provide you with gear so you can try it out.

We play Wednesday evenings from 8:00 – 9:00pm and Fridays 6:30 – 8:00, except when the Grizzlies are playing. $10 drop in and a one time $10 insurance fee.

We are an open group to anyone interested in playing Women’s Hockey in Revelstoke BC.
