Bikes, Beers & Babes @ Revelstoke Community Centre
Aug 20 @ 6:00 pm

Our weekly rides start NEXT TUESDAY April 16. Meet at the community centre at 6pm, ready to ride.

A few reminders, as we start the bike season:
-Bring a tube, tools, & whatever you need to be ready to fix something mid-ride. Be prepared!
-Remember your group ride etiquette. Let faster riders go in front of you, let someone know if you want to pass, leave space between riders, watch for forks in the trail (don’t let the babe behind you down), check in with others, and generally don’t be a dick.
-You don’t need to be the best! Just show up. We are a friendly group.
-We will have a ride planned out in advance and will always (99% of the time) ride to the trail head.
-We go out for food & beers after the ride, so keep that in mind! Usually we stop at the Big Eddy Pub.

We are super excited to bike! Hit us up with questions – Catherine CraigRobyn Goldsmith Mindy Skinner Jenn Avery or me. See you next Tuesday

Group SUP Night @ Revelstoke
Aug 21 @ 6:30 pm

The idea behind the Wednesday Group Stand Up Paddle (SUP) night is to allow paddlers to get together to meet new people and learn about new places to paddle around Revelstoke. It’s free. There is no formal guiding or instruction on these nights, just a social get-together on the water. It is an ‘Everybody Welcome’ atmosphere and we are supper stoked to always see new faces join in each week. Stayed tuned to this event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/1149271015273733/) for the week’s meeting place as we change it up every week! I will post it here.
PLEASE help promote water safety-
Wear a PFD with a whistle. Bring a headlamp. and wearing a leash is always strongly recommended.

2019 Mount Revelstoke Steamer @ Mount Revelstoke National Park
Aug 25 @ 7:30 am – 2:00 pm

The Mt. Revelstoke Steamer Road Bike Race will be on Sunday, August 25, 2019, in beautiful Mount Revelstoke National Park!

This year we’ll be mixing things up and it will be a mass start format.

Registration is now open at Zone4 with an early bird discount available until July 2. With the change to a mass start format and the increasing popularity of the event, we expect to sell out this year.

What: Mass start road race up the Meadows in the Sky Parkway in Mt Revelstoke National Park.

When: 7.30am on Sunday, August 25, 2019

Course Details: This year staging will be at the Nels Nelsen parking, with a neutral rollout back to the parkway. The 25 km course climbs 1,400m and finishes near the summit of Mt Revelstoke (taking a right at the Balsam Lake parking lot and continuing to the very end of the pavement). There are few places in North America with such a long sustained climb. The average gradient is not terribly steep at 5.6%, but the length makes up for lack of steepness. As you climb from temperate interior rain forest to sub-alpine meadows you are treated to improving views of the Columbia River Valley with the Monashees and Selkirks on either side. The road surface is excellent and the traffic is minimal. It is truly a memorable climb!
