Avalanche control brief: Trans-Canada Highway to close west of Revelstoke Friday

The Trans-Canada Highway west of Revelstoke will be closed for avalanche control activities mid-day Friday.

The Trans-Canada Highway will be closed for avalanche control work between Revelstoke and Sicamous between noon and 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.

Avalanche control work is planned for a 13.6-kilometre stretch between Camp Creek Bridge and Summit Lake Overhead Bridge.

A thick snowfall blanketed the Revelstoke area overnight, leading to the closure.
